In short, you can't trust it unless you know the farmer or you make it yourself. This is why I keep chickens. Spoiled, cranky, sleek and shiny chickens with a very well-established pecking order and plenty of space and room to run.

I think this is how it should be. Except, the same thing happened to my foolish friend at the hands of her boyfriend (henceforth known as "the abuser"), and he's still at large, working and enjoying his kids every other weekend.

This person's nomination must be a farce. This is what this governor wants to do to the predators of North America -- hunt them from planes and kill all the grizzly bears left, including those that are habitualized to humans in parks.
I've been to Alaska several times. Each time I was horrified at the lack of environmental regulation and how people treated that place. Nothing has changed.
I got out of the car and walked out across the tundra. I saw a set of footprints. Being a plant person I decided to take a closer look and discovered, to my horror, that those footprints were made in lichen at least several years beforehand. That's the kind of eco-system we're talking about here. The same rules simply don't apply there as apply in the lower 48 or even in places like Ketchican (or what I like to call the Yukon Coast).
I've always characterized it as a place full of 45-year old divorced gun nuts, and I stand by my overview of the situation.
As for the Matanushka Valley, it is better known as the source of a particularly potent variety of marajuana known as "thunderfuck."

I stand by my prediction of Ms. Silva becoming a major world figure in short order -- note the recommendation about deforestation at the end of the article. That's radical shit that needs to happen, as does a ban on the unrestricted use of plastics that are degrading into a toxic slurry of tiny plastic bits that now fill the stomachs of so much ocean life.
