fight back against the move to ban vitamin B6 (aka Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate) -- please comment on this by using this site to send your views to the FDA. Public outcry kept sewedge sludge out of the organic standard in the 1990s -- we can stop this madness, too. Here's what I wrote: " I am shocked that the FDA is even considering reclassifying the naturally occurring nutrient, more commonly known as B6, as a drug. In an era when basic access to health care for millions of Americans is jeopardized by the spiralling cost of drugs, one of the few things we can do to keep ourselves healthy and avoid the system altogether is needed more than ever. When my dog suffered a ruptured disk several years ago, European-recommended treatment with Ester-C, vitamins B6 and B12, along with physical therapy and patience, restored him to full health. The several thousand dollar operation that was presented to me as the only vet-recommended cure was not even purported to be nearly as effective. Please don't sell myself and my loved ones to yet another big pharmaceutical company. I am begging your to rule against this petition. Sincerely, Marie Richie Portland, Oregon"

Amazing talk that goes way the hell out there in a way you just don't expect from a scientist. I can only wonder what those 8 years of recovery were like. As I near my 35th b-day, I realize that shit like this could happen to me at any given moment.

A good development in the apple-moth-spray fiasco that was scheduled to take place in northern California, including the area around San Francisco.

Yes, yes, I know it's the Telegraph, but it's a real study full of scientific goodness. Look down on this list -- sodium benzoate. It's in every single can of pop in this country. And liberals who've already adjusted their diets towards tiny millet and rainwater (thanks D. Coupland) wonder why other Americans seem to be getting dumber all the time. I'm sayin' the church isn't the most dangerous part of the church picnic. I suppose we can take a bit of comfort in that the Britons are doing it, too. We share a unique bond, you know. "Bueller? Bueller?" Cue crickets. Tartazine - aka, FD&C yellow #4 Quinoline yellow -- aka, FD&C yellow #10 Sunset yellow - aka, FD&C yellow #6 Carmosine - aka, FD&C red #3 or Erythrosine Ponceau 4R - banned in the US (remember those red M&Ms?) Allura red - aka, FD&C red #40 Sodium Benzoate - formed by reacting benzoic acid and sodium hydroxide Follow those links and tell me if that sounds healthy to you. Now, imagine if you had a slurry of those things in your body. How would they react together?

Yes, that's right, a vitamin C shower filtre. You go to all the bother of filtering that funk out of drinking water -- why dose up in the shower? My skin hates that shit. I had to stop swimming at the YMCA because I broke out every time I went swimming.

Oh, the pain! I walked across the Ross Island Bridge twice in one evening in a pair of wooden clogs. The next day, my heel was a bit sore, but the dogs needed a walk, so on we walked, in that same pair of clogs. That night I didn't sleep a wink, with the throbbing. I tried to get up @ 4am and I fell down, totally unable to walk. Some ibroporfen and an ice pack later, it was better, but DAMN! This site has a bunch of good information and exercises to keep it at bay. Ignore them at your peril.
