I can do this and save myself much of a $10/month expense. The only problem is that you have to wait a year to see if you did it right -- sort of like pickles. Yet another reason to get freakin' crocks. Maybe that's what I want for my b-day. Some fermentation crocks. Is that old of me?

Egads! This is horrible! This would make just about every single iPod on Earth a target for confiscation at any border crossing or airport for no reason whatsoever. Chew on that. I suggest writing a letter to someone. Presumably EFF has our back on this one, but this is scary enough that real citizen outcry from all developed nations needs to happen with a now-ness. Think of it as the Codex Alamentarus of media.

Matt's pal Brian has always been a heck of a good painter, but he may have really come upon something impressive and lucrative lately. Incrediblly enough, these are not photographs -- they are paintings. Check out his site and be amazed. Not only that, but he's a heck of a nice guy, too.

Not only is this alarming on its own, but Japan isn't exactly allowed to have a military on Earth. So they want to put their military in space? The militirization of space must be stopped!

This old-skool recommendation suggests using silkwork paupe -- after they're removed from their cocoons -- to feed the eels. That's handy.

A girll needs to know how to make her own dashi, you know. Now that I'm quite certain I have a bullshit gallbladder, I'm going to be turning Japanese, to see if I can actually eat without feeling shitty. It's going to be a good experiment
