Just now? But he was a good guy until this year? Oh, life as a third-world despot just gets more complicated every year.

Big Brother, indeed. Matt's been going on about the cameras in the UK as the reason he'll never go back again. But, we have just as many of them here.

Somehow, I think the people are goign to win this one. And honestly, if the true cost of air travel was actualy included in the ticket price, there would be no need for an additional anything at Heathrow.

Hmm...at least bullemics get something out of their waste.
I go through this battle every day here at the house w/ Matt. And yes, he will go out of his way to sneak food into the trash, and yes, I dig it out of the trash and turn it into animal treats or compost if it's the junk food that he likes and I won't feed to my animals.
I think it makes him feel more American -- more like a man -- to buy stuff and waste food, but I'm sure he'd chafe at that notion...quite sure.
And yes Matt, I know you make up errands so you can get meat sandwiches downtown instead of eating my cooking. That's fine. What I hate is the lying. And it's the flesh of a dead animal, not booze...you freakin' addict.

Quite possibly the oddest story I've heard all year. I mean, this guy is old and straight. It's bizzare, and I think tells us more about the mind of a politician than most would want us to know.
Matt was appalled, especially given the stories of food riots lately. He launched into a Prescott and Cartman schtick that had me laughing so hard it was difficult to breathe.
This, of course, is why anorexics feel moral superiority.

Yes, yes, I know it's the Telegraph, but it's a real study full of scientific goodness.
Look down on this list -- sodium benzoate. It's in every single can of pop in this country. And liberals who've already adjusted their diets towards tiny millet and rainwater (thanks D. Coupland) wonder why other Americans seem to be getting dumber all the time. I'm sayin' the church isn't the most dangerous part of the church picnic.
I suppose we can take a bit of comfort in that the Britons are doing it, too. We share a unique bond, you know.
"Bueller? Bueller?" Cue crickets.
Tartazine - aka, FD&C yellow #4
Quinoline yellow -- aka, FD&C yellow #10
Sunset yellow - aka, FD&C yellow #6
Carmosine - aka, FD&C red #3 or Erythrosine
Ponceau 4R - banned in the US (remember those red M&Ms?)
Allura red - aka, FD&C red #40
Sodium Benzoate - formed by reacting benzoic acid and sodium hydroxide
Follow those links and tell me if that sounds healthy to you. Now, imagine if you had a slurry of those things in your body. How would they react together?

A worthy charity. St. Francis of Asissi would be proud. A society should be judged by how they treat the least among them, and that includes animals.

I had no idea Poland was the Mexico of Europe, though I can't say I'm surprised. Unlike Mexico, Poland has a good chance of rising above it all. They did give us a free Eastern Europe, after all. The west owes Poland, big time, very much.
